Meet Yana Vykhoreva, new Customer Support Manager for the DACH region

Yana is one of three brand-new team members heading our German division close to Munich. In the role of Customer Support Manager, Yana has at least one finger in everything concerning the market – from sales to aftersales.

Even with a mere 4 weeks with the company Yana has already been to Sweden and our Malmö office and factory twice for training and introduction. With her sparkling energy, she’s hard to miss, and we took the opportunity to try and capture her spirit in a few short questions.

Question

Hi Yana! What is your experience with Nor:disk so far?

Answer

It's great! I've had a nice introduction with onboarding and training in Sweden. I got to meet a lot of the people and also had the chance to get to know my new colleagues and who is doing what. Spending some days at the head office gave me a good overview of the company.

I find it very interesting to discover other cultures, and experiencing Sweden and Swedish people and procedures was very fascinating. I especially like how you care for your employees – not every company does this. For instance, everyone has breakfast at the office - even the production crew! I find this quite uncommon.

During my days in Malmö I also had an interesting day in the production hall, building a machine with my own two hands (and some help from my colleague, Freke). It gave me even deeper insights and understanding for our machines.

Question

What will your role be?

Answer

I am the Customer Support Manager and I’ll be the contact person for customers in the DACH region, supporting them with various needs such as quotation request and order processing, as well as coordinating technical support to solve problems and issues.

I will also work with more marketing and sales-related activities and tasks, such as organizing different events, managing exhibitions etc.

Question

What about Nor:disk attracted you and made you apply for the job?

Answer

What really spoke to me was that these ware washers reduce heavy labor and help save time for people, so they can do better things with their time. They also save on water and detergent, so in all it’s a very sustainable solution.

For instance, we have this brand new customer, a convent in Bavaria, where the nuns up until now had to wash everything by hand. It’s hard and highly unpleasant labor to wash all of these pots and pans by hand. It’s not at all like home, you will be stuck there for a long time doing the same thing.

Question

How would you describe the culture at Nor:disk?

Answer

I find the culture at Nor:disk is very different from general companies. Your employees care for each other and are helpful. I also experience a new kind of freedom in your way of working, without someone controlling you and keeping you on a narrow path all the time. Of course you have to do certain things in certain ways, but in general, there is much more personal freedom. More human I would say? I also experience people as being friendly and open-minded here. Everybody seems very happy!

Question

And what about the atmosphere in your team, how would you describe it?

Answer

We’re all very new to the team and to each other, but up until now we have had a very good feeling. We help each other out a lot, and the sales team is very motivated. We’re constantly on the lookout for new places to put our machines at work and we have a strong belief that our machines will only grow in numbers, they are a perfect fit for the German market.

Question

Our final question is just for fun, and one we like to ask all our new team members: where do you find yourself in the kitchen?

Answer

Oh, I like cooking new dishes and explore and try new things, and I’m very curious as to how it will taste. Right now I’m trying out Thermomix and having fun with that – I spend hours in the kitchen experimenting. I only started like a year ago, and I like it! Honestly, I prefer to do it without someone interfering... it’s better when I’m alone and can do things my way haha!
