Meet Anna Leo, new Head of Marketing at Nordisk Clean Solutions

The opportunity to be part of a transformative journey involving a new brand, expanded product range, and the curiosity to enter a new industry is what attracted Anna Leo to Nor:disk.

Fairly new to the job, we checked in to see how it feels so far.

Question

Describe your first weeks at work

Answer

– The initial weeks have flown by! Much thanks to the well-thought-out onboarding program I had the privilege of joining, allowing me to familiarize myself with the company, its products, and get to know my new colleagues. Meanwhile, the daily work has been ongoing, which, of course, is what has truly kicked off my journey with Nor:disk and the marketing team! It's incredibly thrilling to join at the start of a new year, where various plans and initiatives are set to begin or unfold.

What does your role entail?

Answer

– In my role I have the overall responsibility for developing the brand globally. Both from strategy to implementation but also to be operational in creating marketing activities. We are currently on an exciting journey of transformation, which took off during 2023 with a new company name – Nordisk Clean Solutions (previously Granuldisk) representing a new generation of products, solutions, and services.

 

Together with the marketing team consisting of experts within digital, brand, and product marketing we identify how to package this, any potential needs, and how this should be marketed to reflect the transformation as well as our ambition to be a complete provider. In parallel, marketing plays a vital role in the collaboration with departments such as Sales, Product Development and Customer Success, as we all strive to fulfil our customers’ core need – to get their dishes clean in the most sustainable and efficient way.

What about Nor:disk was most appealing to you?

Answer

– The primary motivation was Nor:disk being at the beginning of its transformation journey, and the opportunity to be part of this in an industry that is new to me. Simultaneously, it is built on solid, and many years of experience and credibility, creating a fantastic combination. Moreover, the recognition of the value of marketing and having such high in-house competence was proof to me that Nor:disk is a company at the forefront.

How would you describe the culture? Describe the atmosphere in your team?

Answer

– I immediately sensed a warm and inclusive culture with an open-minded approach. We assist each other to progress and operate according to the Agile methodology, influencing not only our planning and processes but also contributing to a positive work culture.

In my team, there's great energy, commitment, and delightful humor! Essential ingredients in our day-to-day work as we naturally balance more intense periods and challenges with time for creativity and planning.

Question

Hand on heart, where do you find yourself in the kitchen: orchestrating the socializing, crafting the food, or taking care of the dishes?

Answer

– I gladly leave the actual cooking to someone else :) Instead, I love setting the table and preparing for the guests to arrive, mingling with them. I also find it quite relaxing to tidy up after a nice dinner and reflect on the evening.

Anna has worked in marketing for the majority of her professional career. Before joining Nor:disk, she spent several years at tech company Precise Biometrics, where she held the position of Head of Marketing. Before that, she had similar roles at companies such as the sports brand PUMA, and the smartwatch brand Kronaby.
